The player is free to explore the open-world of San Andreas and engage in various activities, such as carjacking, street racing, and flying planes, in between story missions. The game's story is divided into several missions, which advance the main plot as well as introduce side missions and activities. Along the way, CJ must navigate the dangerous streets of Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas, while building his reputation and power within the Grove Street Families. CJ is welcomed back into the Grove Street Families, the gang he used to be a part of, and quickly gets caught up in the power struggles and criminal activities of the city.Īs CJ becomes more involved in the gang life, he also becomes embroiled in a larger criminal conspiracy involving corrupt police officers, powerful businessmen, and rival gangs.
